Description

An innocent- looking young woman gazes directly into the viewer's eyes. There is a fragility and seriousness in her expression. A peeled pomegranate and a leaf sit below her image. In Iranian lore, the pomegranate was the forbidden fruit of knowledge and of temptation, not the Biblical apple. Is this young girl on the cusp of womanhood?
The hexagon behind her head is the symbol of harmony and balance and serves also as a halo.
