Corre Alice’s oil paintings often explore the relationship between the emotional and the intellectual. She is inspired by the boldness of abstract expressionism, as well as the surrealist movement and its use of the creative unconscious as a navigational tool.
“I paint freely, but with formal restraints, respecting the integrity of the structure in the attempt to create tension...impulsively painting with regard to the logical.” Quote from Corre Alice, Artist Biography, Van Dop Gallery Website: https://vandopgallery.com/corre-alice/.
