Capturing the subdued colours of an overcast day in, Biden has caught the sheer force of the rock faces in bold, fresh strokes. Boulders and shadows overlap. There is delicate subtlety the snow, and the glacial silt is a clear turquoise green. This plein air painting is typical of Biden's watercolour style in the 1980s.
