Description
A red petunia with white stripes seems to float towards the viewer on a tangled background of dark greenery. Sinuous lines radiate from the centre of the flower giving it depth.
The painting was begun with watercolour, and enhanced with chalk pastel, being the dominant media of the background.
"P Granirer 88", in white chalk on lower right corner front.
On recto, date is inscribed "88" in white chalk, immediately after the signature.
On verso of the painting, are inscriptions at the top, slightly to the right of middle.

Matted as noted in frame dimensions, although, there is no frame. Chalk pastel has been fixed, yet care must be taken not to touch the surface which is not totally secure.
Details
Mat is slightly smudged, so needs re-matting for exhibition. The mixed media work is painted below the finishing work on the second layer which is chalk pastel.
There are coloured chalk smudges on the reverse of the painting that need to be removed.
