English Bay Crude II
original
2020
In the port of Vancouver, tankers and cargo ships sit waiting for their time to dock in port. In this painting, Bowcott describes three crude oil containing vessels anchored at English Bay, waiting to be unloaded. A light sea fog hovers above the ships. The clear sky above the fog foretells this will be a warm summer day. It is a peaceful start to the day.
The canvas has been stretched over a cradle board with 1.75 " edges which are painted as an extension of the front image colors.
This gives excellent stability to the painted surface. The painting is initialled and dated obscurely on the right lower front and signed in graphite on the verso more clearly.
Very good
