A red petunia with white stripes seems to float towards the viewer on a tangled background of dark greenery. Sinuous lines radiate from the centre of the flower giving it depth.
The painting was begun with watercolour, and enhanced with chalk pastel, being the dominant media of the background.
Condition
Matted as noted in frame dimensions, although, there is no frame. Chalk pastel has been fixed, yet care must be taken not to touch the surface which is not totally secure.
